HARLEM WIZARDS NOV. 2016The RCFA hosted the fourth consecutive HARLEM WIZARDS GAME. The event is a FUN raiser for the Riverhead Central Faculty Association's Senior Scholarship Fund and scholarships for elementary students to attend programs at the East End Arts Center. Once again, this year, the event was sold out AND $12,000 WAS RAISED! Prior to the game, more than 50 children had the opportunity to INTERACT WITH THE WIZARDS as "Wiz Kids". The game featured the Harlem Wizards against RCSD staff, teachers and administrators. THE RCFA WOULD LIKE TO THANK the District's PTOs for their support, the community business SPONSORS AND THE PUBLIC FOR ATTENDING THIS IMPORTANT FUNDRAISER!

According to RiverheadLocal, the 50-50 raffle also raised about $1,000 to benefit former RHS students Riley Butler and Juliana Marcucci. Butler and Marcucci, both 21, are fighting uphill medical battles. Butler is battling pineoblastoma, a form of brain cancer. Marcucci, a former RHS track star, suffers from bilateral hip dysplasia and excessive femoral anteversion – a condition undiagnosed until recently which limits her to using crutches or a wheelchair.
